Where it begins

Born in the
pink city.
Worn across
the world.

In the ateliers of Jaipur, women press carved wooden blocks into hand-dyed fabric, a tradition unchanged for centuries. Each print is slightly imperfect. That imperfection is the point.

"In their patience and strength, I saw more than fabric, I saw heritage, resilience, and beauty woven into every thread."

Hand-block printed dress · The story behind God Is A Woman
The Story

God Is A Woman
began with a
conversation
in Jaipur.

I found the artisans before I found the brand. Sitting in a workshop in the old city, watching a woman press a carved block into indigo-dyed cotton with a patience I had never seen, I knew this was something worth protecting.

What began as wonder became a mission: to honor their craft, amplify their voices, and create dresses that give women what they truly seek, freedom, radiance, and connection to something older than fast fashion.

★★★★★

"I've never worn something that made me feel so connected to something larger than myself. The print, the weight of the fabric, the way it moves, it's art you wear."

Before you ask

A few gentle answers.

What size are the dresses?
Each dress is one adjustable size, designed to fit beautifully from a small to a large. They're cut generously, with ties and smocking that move with you. We don't yet make extended sizing, we're growing slowly so we can grow honestly.
Where are they made?
Every piece is hand-stamped using teak wood blocks, dyed with plant-based pigments, and stitched in our small Jaipur atelier by women earning fair wages. A single dress takes up to three days to print.
How long does shipping take?
EU orders arrive within 3-5 business days. Worldwide shipping available. Free EU shipping on every order. We ship from our European fulfilment centre, so no surprise customs fees.
What's your return policy?
30-day returns on unworn pieces with tags attached. Because each dress is made by hand, we offer easy exchanges and store credit (which never expires), and refunds where applicable.
How do I care for my dress?
Hand wash in cool water with gentle detergent. Line dry in shade, direct sun fades natural dyes. Iron on low. Each dress softens with every wear and is meant to last for years.
Are your makers really paid fairly?
Yes. Every woman in our atelier earns above-market living wages for the region, with humane hours and paid leave. We work directly with the workshop, no middlemen, no compromises.
